Pacenote v0.5.13

Setup no longer has dead ends: each step that could stop you now says why and offers the way on, from a mention by the wrong person to a first answer that fails.

brew update && brew upgrade --cask pacenote

The upgrade quits the running app first and reopens it, once. Config, run history and your tasks are untouched.

Setup

  • "@Pace it's me" holds still. The first person to mention Pace stays on screen, with what they wrote, until you say it is not you, and Yes and Not me sit in their card. Saying it again replaces the one you let in before.
  • The review shows who may really ask, with a way to remove anyone let in earlier, and says why Start Pace is not ready yet.
  • Starting tells you what stopped it, with a button to the step that fixes it: Pace already running in a terminal, the built-in sandbox that could not prepare, or a setting Pace refuses.
  • A first answer that fails is not the end. Setup shows why, and the next answer finishes it. If Pace is not running, Start Pace is right there.
  • The team hub lets you cancel while it waits for your code, says in plain words why a hub gave none, and goes on with a pairing you made before.
  • Slack tokens in the wrong field say where they go, Slack's errors read as what to do, and tokens you typed are kept if you leave to wait for an admin's approval.
  • The built-in sandbox that stopped preparing shows in the step list, on Overview and in the review, with Try again first and the log under Details.
  • The AI service step copies the sign-in command and checks again when you come back from Terminal.
  • Settings is not a one-way door. After setting things up there, Overview's Setup needed card opens setup again.
  • Keyboard and screen readers follow each step: focus moves to its title, and news from Slack is announced.
