Pacenote v0.3.12

Pace's threads hold only its answers now, and the Orbly and Verda names are gone.

brew update && brew upgrade --cask pacenote

The upgrade quits the running app first (the bot gets up to 20 seconds to finish its requests, and the rest resume on the next start) and reopens it. Config and run history are untouched. Then rebuild the sandbox images once, in Settings > Sandbox ("Build sandbox images"), for the newer claude CLI.

Only answers in the thread

  • When Pace cannot answer, it puts ⚠️ on your mention and tells only you why, in a message only you can see. The thread gets nothing.
  • A request a restart cut off for good works the same way: ⚠️, and a note to you to mention Pace again.
  • Without the reactions:write scope, "Working on it..." goes only to you, instead of a message in the thread.
  • When images fail to upload, only you hear about it; diagram sources, being part of the answer, still go to the thread.

Orbly and Verda are gone

Pacenote no longer reads anything from before the renames: ORBLY_* and VERDA_* variables, ~/.orbly and ~/.verda, and orbly/* and verda/* branches made by the broker. If you still keep your settings in one of those folders, move it before upgrading:

mv ~/.orbly ~/.pacenote # or ~/.verda

and rename the ORBLY_* or VERDA_* keys in ~/.pacenote/.env to PACENOTE_*. Run history in the oldest record format still shows.

Also in this release

  • After you save a Slack token or get a new claude token, the settings notice offers "Start Pace" or "Restart now" again (it had stopped showing in v0.3.5).
  • The sandbox runs claude 2.1.296.
