Pacenote v0.3.7

A Slack app without the reactions scope gets the new replies too, and no longer a warning that stays.

brew update && brew upgrade --cask pacenote

The upgrade quits the running app first (the bot gets up to 20 seconds to finish its requests, and the rest resume on the next start) and reopens it. Config and run history are untouched.

Without reactions:write

Some workspaces do not approve the scope, and Pace works without it. What changes in that case:

  • Pace still posts "Working on it..." while it works, but the answer now comes as a new reply at the bottom of the thread, so Slack notifies you, and the "Working on it..." message is deleted once it is posted. (In v0.3.6 the answer was edited into it, which Slack does not notify about.)
  • The missing scope is no longer one of the status bar's check issues. It is a limit of the setup, not a fault, so it shows quietly on the Pace screen, and Settings > Messengers > Slack > Check connection still mentions it. The status bar's warning stays for what needs fixing, such as a stopped sandbox proxy.

With the scope, nothing changes: a 👀 on your mention while Pace works, and the answer as a new reply.

Also in this release

  • A run's "Open in Slack" link goes to your mention, since the "Working on it..." message is gone once answered.
  • With a team hub, the hub lets each desktop delete the messages it posted, as it already let them edit them. Until the hub is updated, the leftover "Working on it..." message says "Answered below." instead.
